At Coffea Arabica we love to share our passion for coffee.
For over 15 years, we have traveled the world visiting coffee plantations, learning about the botanic, climatic conditions and processing methods directly from coffee farmers. Armed with this knowledge we have designed activities, courses and workshops for our corporate clients to teach them how to taste, recognise and make great quality coffee even if they don’t own an expensive machine. A typical day starts with an introduction to coffee growing, harvesting and production methods. Then, it’s time for the participants to roll-up their sleeves and start making coffee. All our workshops start at 10am and end at 4pm, You can choose from one of our 4 corporate activities:
At the beginning of the session you will learn how to dial in espresso, understanding important key factors such as dosing, tamping and grinder adjustment. You will learn your way around a professional coffee machine and we will teach you how to taste and recognise the perfect espresso shot. You will then learn how to texturise silky, creamy milk and pouring techniques in order to serve perfect flat whites, cappuccinos and other drinks from the menu.
It is a great workshop if you want to get your taste buds to work and expand your knowledge of coffees from around the world. At the beginning of the session, we will start with an introduction to the world of coffee (growing regions, single origins coffee, different tastes and processing methods). We will then provide you with a selection of some of the best coffees available on the market today and we will teach you how to set up a cupping table, and how – like with wine – to taste coffee like a professional.
Make great coffee at home or at work without an expensive coffee machine. You will be extracting some of the most beautiful single origin coffees available on the market today, using alternative brewing methods including a French Press, Chemex, Pour over and Aeropress. We will teach you about water/coffee ratio, grind, water temperature and brewing techniques for each method. You will leave with all the techniques and knowledge you need to impress your family and colleagues!
The Battle of the Barista
Coffee is spilled and sweat is poured during our fun baristas competition. This is the Espresso Masterclass with a twist. At the beginning of the session, you will learn how to dial in espresso, understanding important key factors such as dosing, tamping and grinder adjustment. We will teach you how to taste and recognise the perfect espresso shot. You will then learn how to texturise silky, creamy milk and pouring techniques in order to serve a perfect flat white. In the second part of the session, three teams are formed and the challenge for each member of the team is to deliver the best espresso and flat white. At the end, the winning candidate leaves with a bag of coffee beans from the best speciality coffee roasters in the UK.
