Bridget Mc Vey
Bridget started making ceramics at a very young age and has always loved working with clay. Making pots makes her happy, and she loves to share that pleasure.
As well as her own ongoing creative practice, Bridget has always taught ceramics to a very wide and diverse range of people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. She has a special interest in mental health and the therapeutic benefits of working with clay.
She set up ClaySpace studios with her husband Ian in 2015. Clayspace is a not-for-profit social enterprise offering professional ceramics studio space and teaching facilities for the whole community.
She has worked on projects and commissions in all aspects of ceramics, and is currently enjoying working in porcelain, mostly made on the potter’s wheel.
She makes pots to be used and handled, that each have their own story.

Description
These curvy porcelain cups sit perfectly in your hands and they’re as nice to use as they are to look at.
The smooth soft glazes graduate from tones of green and pale blue to grey and silver and add a lovely tactile surface.
Where the glaze pools a little thicker, sometimes tiny silver crystals will form and scatter across the surface.
Because each mug is hand thrown and individually glazed no two are ever quite the same.
The mugs are glazed white inside for a clean crisp finish and where the glazes flow into each other at the rim they create an attractively coloured crystal detail.
